 Call for Artists:

The Brantford Arts Block aims to give local artists, of every age and skill level, the chance to showcase their works in an open and accessible venue. Preference is given to local artists, but those with a connection to Brantford or surrounding area are given serious consideration.  Upcoming, emerging and professional artists display their work together helping to attract new and diverse audiences. The Brantford Arts Block attempts to showcase the entire arts community featuring contemporary and traditional artists that work in a variety of mediums such as oils, acrylics, mixed media, photography, 3-dimensional sculptural works, metals, wood, and  multi media.

If you would like to submit a proposal, please include a current artists statement, a CV (resume), 10 jpgs and a list of work submitted. Digital images should be no larger than 3mb in size. We do not return submitted materials, but artists may make arrangements to pick them up after notification. Each submission must have complete contact information (name, address, phone number, email address).

The exhibits are selected by the committee, with 3 - 4 artists per show and hang for approximately 6 weeks.  Solo shows are exhibited when the proposal displays a strong cohesion between the pieces to be exhibited.  They require a full description of the intended show along with theme and a detailed description of the work to be on exhibit.  We encourage solo show applicants to come in to the Arts Block to discuss their ideas with us before proceeding with the application.   Please indicate when applying for a solo show rather than a group show.

For further information, please see our Exhibition Guidelines page.
