Mission and Vision
Brantford Arts Block is a charitable community arts organization in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, with a vision to nurture the artistic and creative potential of Brantford. Our core goal is the creation of a downtown community arts centre which will provide exhibition, performance, studio and work space for artists of all ages and skill levels. The centre will also act as a producing facility, partnering with other organizations to showcase artists in unique settings around Brantford. Another important part of our mandate is education regarding the importance of the arts, especially inspiring and helping young, and innovative artists in any field.
Brantford Arts Block intends to build an arts centre as part of Downtown Brantford’s larger transformation into the cultural centre of Brantford. We’d like to see private, not-for-profit and public organizations partner to create a vibrant culture oriented district that would benefit local citizens and tourists alike. With an active and engaging program of arts, culture, crafts, music and live performance, the arts centre will appeal to a broad section of the community and remain sustainable through attendance and donations. Culture-Led Regeneration is a multi-dimensional approach to the renewal or revitalization of a community wherein art, culture and creativity play a leading role in transformation. It is a practice focused on the confluence of creative people and dynamic places – intersections that stimulate, catalyze and drive the emergence of vital creative ecologies throughout cities and communities. So in a nutshell that’s who we are. We like to have fun, we like to make art, and we want you to make art with us, cause it’s fun.
